Here's an interesting question for ya'll. The fan on my '70 C/10 barely clears the bottom of the fan shroud, but clears the top by a lot. Consequently, when the pickup is on ground that isn't really flat, especially if one from tire is higher or lower that the other, the fan rubs on the shroud and makes an awful noise. I have confirmed that the shroud is not installed upside down, as was my first instinct. Any ideas on what else may be "out of whack?"

    Thanks and God Bless,

    Brian

  2. Sounds like it could be the drive-line angle, possibly worn-out Tranny mounts, It's a shot in the dark but worth a peek.

Charles F Rising JR: check to see if the motor mounts are bad (try to rock the engine over to the passenger side of the truck with a prybar). and check to the rad rubber mounts are intact both will cause the prob you are experienceing.

If the motor mounts are bad, will the engine just be able to shift over to the passenger side of the pickup?
    Thanks,
    Brian
