Truck was a bit rough, belonged to a tree trimming company that must have liked being close to their work but was unusual in that it had FACTORY a/c, a/t, p/s, p/b, a 327 4bbl engine, Deluxe cab, backup lights, and I guess just about anything else they could think of. Sweet running and driving truck.
Awesome restoration, something to be very proud of. Thanks for sharing. Is the white painted band around the letters on the tailgate "correct" for a '66? I thought that was a '70's thing?
Yee haw ! That's how I like to see them ! . The horn ring and center button appear to match Chevy II ? .
That is very cool. Evan, you need to take some "before" pics. I like it when the trucks history is known.
I think Lakeroadster is right about the tailgate paint scheme but it matches what was on it; probably had different gate. Steve, it is an old orange and black Asplundh Tree Service truck. I would guess with it being full of options it must have belonged to a boss on some level. Many dents, scrapes scratches, broken glass, but not much rust other than those #&%* drip rails. I want to hug any customer that says to cut them off.
