Trying to determine the year, where built etc. I've used multiple sites with old Chevy truck VIN decoders but the "E" has thrown me. How do you guys read this? Its supposed to be a '51 3100 .....
"20" Built in Los Angeles plant "KP" 1952 3100 series truck "E" built in May "3473" 2472nd vehicle built.
Thank you! Curious, how does one know that the 3473 portion indicates that it is the 2472nd vehicle built? Haasman
Vin # 1952 Like Ken said... Subtract 1001 from your 3473 = actual number built. Great info for 1952.... http://chevy.oldcarmanualproject.com/chevyresto/52057.html
Ken- sorry missed your posting Sorry about that. ... and yes, I was told and of course registered it as a '51. Not that big a deal other than going down to the CA DMV and having them change the title and registration. My door handles do not turn but are fixed, something I believe is a '52 model year characteristic and thought my doors were replaced. But now things are starting to make more sense. Keystoner- Now my VIN makes sense. Thanks. Haasman
