Swapping gas 350 into 6.2 diesel

    Howdy, anybody ever swap a gas engine into a diesel? what parts need to be replaced ? any problems to watch out for? Anyone have any good info? Thanks.

That includes brackets, pulleys and other stuff like that. But like I say, it is a really big pain.

    Chevy gas motor isn't a direct bolt up. An oldsmobile 350 or 455 is. The rear end ratio in a diesel is is a lot higher than w/ a gas. Suggest a change to a lower gear ratio

    Actually, 6.2 diesels and 350 gassers are direct swaps and use the same motor mounts and trans bolt pattern. You just need to get the wire harness, accessories, etc for the 350 and change the governor and torque converter on the transmission. The old 350 diesels ('78-'81) are different and use the Oldsmobile bolt pattern.
