I have a 41 Chev panel truck. It has built in headlights, with a little running light on top. Years ago one of the glass pieces broke, and I bought another one. It doesn't fit. I am pretty sure it is to a 47 Chevy Truck. I would love to give it to someone who needs it, it was hard for me to find it when I bought the truck 35 years ago, so it has to be impossible now. It is original. It has a couple of chips, but it will still fit and not show the chips. Fits either side. It has a ridge at the end, which is why I think its for the 47, mine doesn't have the ridge. Anyone have a 47 and can use it, lmk, I just hate to have it sitting useless. Free.
You are right, the 41 park light lens stands alone; it is a bit longer than the 46 and 47.1 I don't know about panel trucks but the 41 pickup also used a leather boot around the fuel filler tube and later ones were rubber. I also give away quite a few parts IF and only IF the person is actually working on the project needing the part. I tell re-sellers to shove it.
Thanks for the info Evan, now what am I going to do with the dang 47 Studebaker radiator I bought for my car and it turned out to be a truck radiator! Hahahaha. I was not the best at buying parts back then....
Got you covered on the Stude radiator (probably). Dale Truett, Commerce, Texas is a Studebaker lover---we have done at least half a dozen for him. Everything from a 1938 Champion to a 1957 Golden Hawk and everything in between. I'll tip him off to your radiator. He has no trucks but as past president of the National Studebake Club he knows many that do. We have a 49 Studebaker long bed 3/4 ton(ugly) truck in the shop right now. Does your radiator look like this?
Studebaker radiator. I just found the radiator, its stuck behind some stuff, but it doesn't have those side flaps! As soon as I can I will take a picture. He can have it for FREE but I need someone to pick it up.
