Fan belt came off the other day and temperature gage almost pegged out. Now it won't come back to zero but does seem to work as I can see the clear effect of the thermostat opening at apr 180 degrees. It just won't come back to zero. Any thoughts ? The tube seems to be good and know apprentice kinks that I can see. Dave

    Gauge Fun

There's a hollow coiled up thing inside the gauge proper , IIRC it's called a ' Bourden tube ' and it has a strip of teeth on it that connect tot he needle ~ sometimes the teeth slip when the gauge pegs and if you delicately take the gauge apart you can re set it .

Worth a try as it's junk now , WORK GENTLY HERE .
