Made another quick trip to the Minnesota border (in a modern car) to bury my sister. Just two of us left now out of eight. When I go on my next planned trip for my class reunion (#60) in September I'd still like to check out Sandy's 54 and Papa's ride. Checked out my brothers resting place since it has had time to green up. He and his dog, who's death preceded his, were cremated and the ashes were scattered at their favorite fishing spot. Very quiet and restful with a big shade tree.
Sorry for the sad news, Evan. My dad just lost his last sibling, his only brother. Hard on us all, we lived side by side, my whole childhood. He was not doing well in the end, however, and I believe he is in a much better place. As we grow older, these things happen to immediate family rapidly. Never easy.
My condolences, Evan. I love the spot where your brother and his buddy are resting. Beautiful lake and peaceful setting.
A death in the family hits harder than most. Thankfully time eases the pain. Take it one day at a time and you will get by. Regrets, Mike
