Before I start tearing into this project I need big picture, which includes questions about "As Is"

Four pics attached with my names for clarity

    white fuse block

    Black fuse can

    2 Wire terminal

    multiwire round

    1. Am I correct in assuming the first two fuse items are eliminated since I am using the E Z wire kit?

    2. the other two items look original, what are they?

1-looks like your brake light switch
2-looks like your high beam switch
3-is a ballast resistor for ignition
4-fuse block for brake and stop lights

None can be eliminated if you are using the replacement harness available from our host and so many others. I used the replacement harness and while the job was not easy or quick, it was certainly straightforward. Going on eight years with that harness with no trouble at all. You need to replace the stop light switch if it does not move when the pedal is depressed or if it does not work. They are cheap and should be replaced anyway. You need to replace all the firewall grommets. Ballast resistor MUST stay if using an ignition coil that does not have an internal resistor. If coil has internal resistor, you may lose the external ballet resistor.

What's going on ? I have to keep logging in  .

As Andy said , *if* you're using a stock wiring harness it's all very simple and just takes time .

Unless you're using 12 volts and a key operated starter , GET RID OF THAT BALLAST RESISTOR ! .

So now I am wondering if the original harness is better then the ez wire. Pros and cons?

If you are going with a stock type truck with original type driveline then the replacement harness is the way to go. If you are going street rod type build, go with the EZ wire.

NOTHING is easier than the stock replacement harness. It's clearly marked with instructions and every lead has markings to where they are supposed to go. Plus...the stock type harness is less expensive at $149.00

Thanks I agree and I am going with replacement from host. Of course I now have a ez wire harness that I will sell for cheap. Anyone interested let me know. My email is readyaimlearn@yahoo.com. I also have two new brake drums from our sponsor.
