This new format plain sucks .

I miss to subject box and the emoticons too , it's harder to read anything (mostly older folks here) .

I hope these changes don't wind up driving me off this great (BEST !) old truck forum .

Oh, now, Nate, it doesn't "suck". Give it a little time and you will move around this one as well as the old one. One thing I like is you can post your pictures "large", if you choose to, without using a hosting site like photobucket, or flikr. Besides, Nate, Your a "notable member". That makes you some kind of star, doesn't it?

I didn't embrace the change at first, but especially am enjoying that it opens to the last posting read.

    The new software is great

The H.A.M.B. switched over to this software a while back.

    There are nice features

    easier to insert photos

    example (From internet)

I believe the software resizes your photos, so should not have huge pictures spilling over the margins anymore.

    you can embed video now
here's a model builder I found on YouTube to give an example (chevy truck to keep it relevant)

you can insert photos in the signature line now, even embed a video.

I do agree the displayed font is to small, and the avatars could be bigger
I posted this in the announcement thread but I don't think it was viewed

I have changed the color scheme of each alternating post so that it's easier to distinguish. Thoughts?

I like the unread messages feature, but I wish it was like the old format that the latest page pops up instead of the very first page of the thread. Some threads have so many pages that in order to read the latest post, you first have to get there. I've had to jump a couple times on these threads to see the latest comment(s) because the first jump only took me about half-way there.
But there is a LOT I "like" about the new setup!
    Thanks.

Not sure if the off set colors help because its the same color as whats under the avatars

Might help if you add a line between reply's like in ths example

There is a back line between post.
    Kinda easier to view

I like Tubby's idea about the lines...
The two colors work ok also. If you could give Nate his title Line, that would be great, also. My attempt at making my own, fell a little short.

Also, I agree the font size is a little small. Could you add a feature where we could just use our finger, like a giant crayon, and then post it?

if your on the forum page and you look the the right, it shows who made the last post.
right under the persons name is the date and time.
if you click on the date it takes you to the last post. example......Today at 8:28am
but it looks like you have to be logged in tho use this feature?

Tubby, I just used that feature without logging in. Also, just tried to post some AD fire truck photos, from my camera, in the large size and they were HUGE. So big they took over the screen, with a scroller bar! That's just my fault, I'm sure, and could be fixed by someone with computer savvy.
Maybe if they were pictures of a pickup, instead of a big-ol' fire truck, they would have fit better.

could be my system, but I have to log in to be able to click on the date.

I think the photos re size once posted?
    check out this example
1947-1953 Chevy Truck Accessory Cattle Guard | Classic Parts Talk

MT photos use to spill over the margins
now they stay in the margins, you can click on them to view them larger.

Well, crap, now I try to upload a simple picture from my photo library, and keep getting an error message. Says my file is too large...
I'm thinking the moderators are gonna have to create a video presentation to show us how to do things here.

    Hm ;

I still don't like it but I'll keep trying .

The old easier to use standard ' go to last post ' button was far better .

And , it's worse than I thought : every time I go back to the home page to look for more unread posts , the site kicks me off and I have to waste time singing in again...

I won't be here long if this continues .

Missing all the emoticons too =8-( .

It's all the pastel color's that's going to run me off, Way to hard to read now compared to the old setup. I've not been here long but this new layout needs quite a bit more work IMO for what little my opinion is worth here.
