    Hi Guys

I'm considering lowering my '65 C10 longbed stepside using a Summit Racing lowering kit

    http://www.summitracing.com/int/par...iew/year/1965/make/chevrolet/model/c10-pickup

It is running at it's standard ride height at the moment and looks level when viewed from the side. It would like to lower it 3" at the front and 5" at the rear. However will this make it look like it's dragging it's arse and should I go with a 3" and 3" to keep it level as I like the low and level look. I don't carry any loads in the bed.

Your expert advice and opinions would be gratefully received. Thanking you in advance.

I can assure you your truck isn't @ std ride height if it is currently suspended by 50 year old springs.

IMO a truck should have some rake... the rear higher than the front, but I'm old school and don't care for the "laying frame" mindset.

Keep in mind also that a 5" drop in the render your truck useless for hauling anything unless you notch the frame.... been there, done that.

I'd suggest going with 3" front and 4" heavy duty drop springs in the rear, they drop the truck but still allow you to use the truck as a truck.

Check out my ole Orange Crate build thread below, and the threads I've authored. Learn from my experiences... and if I can be of further help, don't hesitate to ask.
