I think they have been available for a year or so but we put the first Altman Trique door handle kit in a 51 yesterday. Just like for the 52 and up push button doors they are great. Once lubed up the handles snap back up to the horizontal position probably better than when new. A bit more involved for the twist down handles but not that much. Five stars.

This is one of those things I need to do to my truck.
Did you take any pictures of the install, Evan?

Sorry no install pics but have some finished ones. We had one of the guys that had never done an Altman latch kit do it and it took him two hours. He had a plasma cutter to use so an at home install would take longer. The hardest part is the square hole just above the blue tape in one picture if one doesn't have a plasma cutter. The kit has templates to mark all cuts and I know they can be done with a Sawsall/high speed cutting wheel/or even a jig saw. The finished job looks best if the cuts are made just inside the template lines and then filed for precise fit. As you can see the return spring will actually lift the handle above horizontal if you let the handle snap back but no problem if you turn it back which is the natural way ones does. Thanks for the photos, Evan! I have a little dremel tool with metal cutting blades. You can do a lot with one of these.
What about the lock cylinder you took out? I assume these won't work, or do they with "modifications"?
    Thanks again!

Hi Zig. It's been a while, but if these are the same latches that Bill Hanlon and I installed in our trucks, Yes, the door lock is re-used, (with minor modification.)
