Hello- I have a Turbo Hydramatic 350 transmission in my truck. The seal around the shifter linkage is leaking. I got a new seal, but how do I get the old one out? It is recessed down below the surface and I cannot really get at it because the shifter rod is in the way. Do I drop the oil pan and attack it from the inside? If I can get it from the outside, should I drain the tranny fluid to keep it all from leaking out when I pull the seal? Do I put any "goo" around the new seal when I install it?
