Hi, I have a 49 Chevy 3800 1 Ton Flatbed with stock everything. The wheels and brake drums are 8 Lug. I have all the other parts, but am having trouble finding 8 Lug rear Brake Drums. The rear shoes are 2 1/2 x 14. Does anyone have a suggestion for finding the rear drums ? I just want a working and safe truck - I could not stand to see this truck go to a scrap yard. I'm not looking to upgrade or turn this into a "show truck".
Get a hold of Joe, "Dead Zone Trucking" A.K.A "Mother Trucker". If Joe doesn't have good used drums, nobody does. He would be the "go-to" guy for that. Andy

I do have numerous 1 ton rear axles in the pile but.....I won't know the condition of the drums until I spend 1/2 a day digging the rear end out & pulling the drums off of it.
Thanks, At this point, I need 1 good rear drum. The other one on that axle is OK and this one can be adjusted to work, but I would like them both to be very close to the same. I don't plan to make this a "show truck" I just could not stand to see this truck go to a scrap yard. It will probably not go much farther than the 4.5 miles to town and back with a 40 MPH speed limit. Do you have a web site or other contact information ? Thanks again, B.K. Brown
