Going to the Back to the 50's show with a pickup and trailer to haul back a crankshaft for a tri-power 406 Ford engine and MY ACETYLENE generator. Last used (by me) about 65 years ago when I channeled a 34 Ford 5W coupe. It's the oldest form where the water drips onto the calcium carbide rather than the CaC2 dropping into the water. The lot the shop is on is two acres with the shop being on the NE corner and the guys already insisting my new toy goes to a small shed on the SW corner. They have no sense of adventure and I've already passed the 79 year normal life span so why worry. Seriously, the machine worked flawlessly because it was always kept clean and free of any obstruction so after a thorough pre-start up inspection I'm excited about cooking up some non break the bank gas. Might even find and old acetylene lamp and rig up a yard light.

The young guys in the shop probably don't wash parts in gasoline either... or smoke while painting (saw that as a kid in a shop my Dad managed)

Evan: Is that the stuff we used to use in carbide cannons?
