i have a 82' C10, it has a blown 350 in it, but i want a smaller engine for better gas milage. i have found a 267, my dad says it should do good on gas but i won't be able to lay into it.

is this true and should i go with a 305 instead?

    please help!

I don't know about a 267, but 305's are dogs, and you would need to invest some money to make it perform well. Your best bet on getting any fuel mileage is to insall a higher rear-end gear, or installing a 700R4 transmission in place of what ever it is you have. You could do both an get about 15 mpg with a 350. My 87 K10 has a 350, 700R4, and 3.73 gears and I get about 12mpg from driving around in town. My only mods are headers,a K&N filter, and a TBI spacer.
