I was looking at installing the instrument cluster with a tach option. I have heard stories of it not working with my truck. I own a 85 K10 that I modified, I have fuel injected the truck by taking an engine out of a 88 sub and wired it up with a painless wiring harness(Painless wiring made it very easy!). I was wondering if any one knew if it would or would not work with my truck. I have a one wire pigtail coming off my ignition coil that I beleive is for a tach. Any thoughts on this would be helpful. Thanks, Jon

If you just want a tach, and aren't worried about keeping the dash stock, then forget about the factory setup, and swap in some aftermarket gauges instead. I've seen plenty of people in Truckin' magazine do this. It looks really good, and I'm sure that the aftermarket stuff will be more accurate than the stock gauges. I'm planning on installing AutoMeter stuff in my truck.

I would llike to keep it stock for the original look. I did see a digital dash in the online magazine. But a little out of my price range for right now.:(
