[updated:LAST EDITED ON Apr-26-03 AT 11:36 PM (CST)]I was wonder if a engine rebuild kit for a 1978 chev. 350 will work for a 1988 chev 350 block. I know the 1988 350 takes a one piece rear main seal, but what else would be different?
Also, would the pistons be the same from these motors? I have a basic rebuild kit from years ago that I wanted to use but my block has one cylinder that has a bit of rust I'm wanting to use this kit but it is a standard therefore I can only hone the cylinders. Does anyone know how much pitting from the rust one the cylinder walls can I have? What problems would there be if I dont have the block bored? Thanks for any help
