I bolted a T5 transmission in my 1951 3600. It has a couple of bolt holes at its bottom, about 2/3 of the way back. On the S-10 pickup it came from, it allowed for a brace on each side to be bolted from the tranny to the frame. Since this transmission is bolted to a 261, and no longer has a torque tube connected to a brace point where the tube connected to the original drive shaft (now have a solid drive shaft from rear end to tranny), does anyone think a crossmember should be fabricated for this, and hopefully, does anyone have any photos of what they have fabricated for such an application?

If your rear mounts are still on the bell housing you need no transmission mount. If your engine is side mounted then a simple channel or tube that sets on angle brackets at the frame and has the trans mount bolted in the middle will work.

Doesn't need one, unless you want to. Extra support won't hurt.
