Does anyone know the name/numbers for the L/Duty 4.spd trans. w/od It's in a "83" C-10 2wd, What I'am looking for is the common name, for example the H/Duty 4.spd in my 1/ton is called a SM465/MUNCIE top loader. The guy's at the parts stores don't know much about this L/duty trans, some have even told me they have never heard of it. Any info ya'all have got will help. THANX. Steve

I have heard people call them MM7's. I don't know if thats the RPO code from the glovebox sticker or if that is what it is called. I assume it's a Muncie too right?

I don't think so,I pulled the doghouse and there is a New Process logo cast in the side of the case. The trans is cast aluminum, side loader,it operates like a typical 4/spd,1st&2nd on one lever and 3rd&4th on another.Could it be a Saginaw?

Dude I have no idea then, I know that the five speed they put in later models is a cast aluminum New Process/New Venture unit. My dad had one of these trannies, but it was long ago.

Well..I found a trans shop here in S/E Mich. that seemed to know what they were talkin about,They told me that this trans is probably a New Process 2506. Apparently GM put a few of these transmission in real light duty applications.
