I just finished putting the 81 back together after getting it painted and now I do not have any tail lights, the headlights still work. The brake lights, blinkers, reverse lights all still work just the running lights will not come on. Only thing I removed electrically from the truck was an aftermarket cruise control system that someone had installed. We checked the power at the light switch and it is good. No power at the rear plug, could it just be an open between the switch and the rear plug? Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the info but it isn't the fuse, I wish that it could be that simple. I guess I am lucky that it is daylight for almost 17 hours now, that way I will have a little more time before I really need them.

On my 85 K10 there is a connector by the engine( the wires are green and yellow I think) that were for the lights in the back. The connector was on the drivers side by the linkage for the automatic transmission. Hope this helps!!

It may be that your notgetting a god ground at your taillights. I swapped beds on my 87 and had a couple of problems with getting my taillights to work properly until I got a good ground from my bed to the frame. I had to have the bed bolts good an tight before the lights would work properly.
