Got a 50 3 window in for MII ifs, a/c, and bear claws and it has a couple of new to me items. The rear roll pan/rock guard/valance has a filler extension that mirrors the one at the front of the bed filler between the running board and bed---nice touch. The one I'm going to copy are the oval slots on the top of the bed rails for hold down straps. These are crude but cut using a template and then a stainless scratch plate surround they would look OK and function super. My first built AD was a 53 with a 327, PG, and a Holley 3 barrel (remember these?), and used as a TRUCK. Now after several "Pretties" I want a truck again and the hold down slots grabbed my attention.
That rear roll pan and valance is available as an aftermarket part. The pic appears that the bumper has been tucked in closer to the body. I tucked the one on my 52 as it stuck out about 10 inches from the body. Ugly. The oval holes in the bed would be a good addition. I wish my body man would have filled the stake pocket holes
I kind of like those hold down holes BUT I think if too much pressure put on them with straps they may cause deforming of the bedrail. Thoughts on that Evan? Andy
