Hi, new here. I have been searching for weeks for a heater core for my 1949 chevy 3100 with no luck. It is a round core (recirculating type) does anybody know where I can get one for a decent price? I saw one aftermarket that brassworks offers but it also come with a hefty price tag. thank you in advance
You can give these guys a call, they did make the round heater core at one time, not sure of the price. http://ucvintagerad.com/index.html The brass works heater core is a square core in a round body with a spral fan and motor so you need to take that into consideration when looking at the price, I've read good reviews on their product.
Not sure what your idea of a "decent price" is but ,we have a few of those that are NOS in the original box.
Trying to put "hard to find" and "low price" together in the same sentence can end up being frustrating. When we work on really orphan projects we don't spend a minute searching when it come to radiators or heaters. Do a search for Maine Radiator and click on "Antique". There has never been a radiator or heater core made that they can't duplicate.
Just think if the 1st one lasted 65 years, the next NOS one should last that long, you probably will be okay...
