Hello, I got a 1950 3100. I'm installing an open driveshaft axle. I bought the offset spring perches with the extra hole to center the axle. Ok, so now I got them. I didn't buy that big kit with the tie plates and the u bolts. Decided to just drill my own and buy the u bolts separate. Question. My center bolt is supposed to go in the 6th hole right? Not the very center one? I'm making mine to match these in the picture.
The simplest fix is to grab several cans of PB Blaster, take off the springs and turn them around end for end. Perfect centering in the wheel wells. Merry Christmas !
Merry Christmas to you too. Yea I had already put bushings in. And they are different front to back. I bought the offset perches, had my plates drilled by a friend and I got the axle in now. Looks good and center. Next will be setting pinion angle and welding the perches.
