I'm trying to change the gauges and speedometer in a 1951 Chevy truck and having trouble locating a set which has the turn signals and high/low beam indicators in the cluster. It has a 350 engine with a 12 volt system. I have a newer steering column and would prefer a set of gauges which look original and fit into the dash with no modifications. Any suggestions?
There's always the "hard way". Insert new gauge innards in the old set... For an idea how one might go about it, start at post #78 in my "Progress..." thread. And no, I don't have pictures of them completed, or installed. Switched hats to "carpenter" for awhile.
If you want to keep it as close to original, what about doing some neat old style surgery? Find a couple of LED, mini lights, wheat lights, or what ever modern 12 volt bulbs and then drill out some small holes between the gauges. Oh...colors can be added after, if you did not find the right colors you want. Yes, you might have to raid the nail polish box! rod
