If you have a STOCK 52-55.1 front sway bar (came on Suburbans and were optional on others) would you please measure the diameter of the bar near the point that they pass through the largest support bushings?

This picture is of a GMC sway bar. I know the mounting piece is different on the GMC, but I think the bar is the same.

THANKS! That is close enough to mine to verify that mine is likely stock. The problem I'm having is that one of the on-line old Chevy parts dealers sent a sway bar rubber kit and the hole through the bushings is about .60". They have yet to reply to my complaint.

And by the way, welcome to the forum. Tell us about your truck.

    Your welcome Bill.

I got my 55.1 Suburban in February of this year from the second owner in Iowa. He bought it from the original owner in North Dakota. The guy I bought it from used it as his daily driver for over 20 years and it was still running great when I got it, on the original 235 but with an upgraded 4 speed manual trans.

Currently replacing all that Iowa rot...

    Bill,
If no one has a sway bar bushing with a 3/4" hole you can drill the 0.060 ones out if you put them on dry ice first. This makes rubber machine about like a soft metal with no grabbing onto the tool. We tried liquid nitrogen but the slightest misalignment or over squeezing and the rubber would shatter into a hundred pieces.

Good to know Evan. I think I have it under control. The vendor is working with me to get this resolved.
