Well that's good to hear . The park brake on my old battered 1949 3100 never slipped but I never really trusted it either and always looked where I parked and tried to roll the rig against a curb, rock, gully, etc.....
You will probably get better "traction" on the pedal rod if it's cleaned up and dry. I can see bite marks on it from application of parking brake.
