    WELCOME!

3769716 Block is 58-62 235, which means you have the late style block with full oil pressure.
3836848 is the head that "belongs" with that block, and is the more desirable of the 235 heads.

Don't jump into rebuilding until you know what you've got. What's the status?
    And yes, we want pictures.

So that means I’m going to need 58-62 year 235 for the distributor fuel pump and alternator

Unless you are going for 100% original (concourse restoration), this is actually great news.
The motors look almost identical, but the newer six is much better in terms of both power and reliability.
And yes, be sure to ask for the later parts. Most things are still relatively easy to find at your FLAPS (Friendly Local Auto Parts Store),
or through rockauto.com, or our host.

Lots of great folks here - always happy to help as you run into questions.

Did I mention we love pictures? Would love to see your new project.

Generator, not an alternator, on 58-62 Chevy 6 cylinder engines from the factory.
