Well I guess Paul beat me to it, but I just sold my '48.
I want to thank everyone on this site that helped me turn my basket case into a run about town romp. I learned plenty and feel like I'm moving town and leaving a bunch of friends.
God bless ya'll and thanks for the ride, Larry

Jeez, two long time members exiting the hobby has got me thinking

I just got my Medicare card in the mail the other day, and I suppose with the age demographic that these old trucks tend to attract (read 'old') it makes me curious what I'll do 10-15 years on when I want to sell mine and buy an autonomous car so I'm not a public menace.

    Larry and Zig -

Before you spin out of the site's orbit, how did you come to decide it was time to sell? When you decided to sell, how did you go about it? Did you advertise or did someone just make you an 'offer you couldn't refuse'?

Don't want to be nosey, but curious minds would like to know

    Phil

I’m also curious I posted mine and and got responses back like I was parting it out other responses were ridiculously low ball offers

I guess I can say that I just lost interest once the girl was up and running, not to mention that it was in fair weather competition with my Electra Glide and RV.
It definitely was not for an offer I couldn't refuse, but a reality check from a couple sources that a sound running AD truck has a value around $9,500. The buyer got a good deal and I have space and cash to take on another project...;)

Understand your decision, and wish you well.
Anyone else considering this change, please -
make your truck available here before selling locally?
That way you know it goes to someone who will love it appropriately.

    Smooth roads, everyone.
