Think I found a portable blaster who will come to my house and blast my truck frame for a reasonable charge. Should I follow this with: A) Epoxy. Southern Polyurethanes has a satin black they add UV stabilizers to for sun resistance. B) POR15. C) KBS. D) Rustoleum E) Other Staying away from powder coat because I've heard too many horror stories. Would love to hear your thoughts.
I used DP-90 on my Model A frame after sandblasting and painted it on with a brush. It has the original 1930 frame, with new cross members and boxing plates. Using a brush allowed me to get aggressive in hard to access areas to ensure good coverage. Be sure to use a good respirator....
Other...What about Blitz Black? Have used it and it is pretty good! Well, so far on trailer frames. Have not been up there this year to check how it is holding up, but very impressed by the initial results. Super good heavy duty stuff. I keep a couple of gallons here...handy.
