Is anyone else running "ST" radial tires on your Advanced Design trucks?
I have the original suspension and engine, don't drive over 45 MPH and no fast cornering.
I've been told these shouldn't be run on "passenger cars" as they aren't DOT approved.
They must be better than the original bias ply that came on the vehicle originally.
If it's a real safety concern, I'll buy the 215 85R 15 radial ...just don't know where to buy them.

For reference, this is what I bought:
Rims and hub caps from Jim Carter Trucks

    Rims: MST150 steel 15x5 6 lug 5.5 bolt pattern
    Chrome Hub Caps: MST159

    Tires from Tires-easy.com
    ST205/90R -15 Radial

    Thanks!

    Welcome to the forum.

Assuming you stay at or below 45 MPH as you have stated and keep the tires properly inflated I'd say keep the trailer tires until they wear out. They'll ride a little rougher (stiffer sidewalls, but who'd notice in a 50s GM pickup), have less acceleration traction (again, not very noticeable with our anemic stock engines) and longer stopping distances (and again probably not noticeable with stock brakes).

Then again, opinions are like a$$holes. Everybody has one.

I will run these tires until they wear out by UV damage, as I doubt I will wear them out by the little driving I do.

Anybody know where I could purchase the 215 85R 15 tires?

Keep an eye on the rears, trailer tires are not designed to handle the twisting power loads the engine gives .
