I have a 1952 three-quarter ton Chevy truck which is leaking pretty well from the universal joint in the driveshaft. I have looked at classic parts and other online sources and nobody seems to sell a replacement universal joint for three-quarter ton. Everyone has half ton universals. You folks know a lot more about this than I do. Any idea why no one sells the three-quarter ton replacement

You just have to keep looking, they show up on E-Bay and so one occasionally .

Joe here, "Mothertrucker" has parts, take a picture of what you're looking for and he'll set you up .

? I the joint worn out or are you just assuming it'll need replacement due to the leak ? .

The gaskets necessary to stop the leak are available from FelPro .

A leather ring is far better than the synthetic O-Rig on the gasket kits .

    Welcome .

IIRC they're interchangeable but the 3100 series (1/2 ton) one is much lighter in construction .

Thanks Nate! Would you recommend against the half ton universal? My 3/4 is NOT a daily driver. Occasional use....

    thanks!

I cannot say as it's been far too long .

If it fits I'd go with the 1/2 ton one no worries .

Just remember to keep the tranny full of oil ~ they drip and once the rear ball housing is dry you're in a for a very bad day .
