    I have a 1954 chevy 3600 and I originally baught it with a wood box but i wanna know if I should change it to a step side or redo the wood box which would be cheaper which one is more saught after for value right now I just have the steel outside to the bed I would need to replace ALL of the wood for it is rotted out really bad thank you

    ? All 1954 pickups had step side beds, non ? .

    I like the original wooden bed floors, they're tedious to rebuild but well worth the effort , I work my truck for what that's worth .

    Don't know about Chevy, but you could buy a bedless (and for that matter cabless) GMC

    Yes but he said he bought one with a wooden box...

    GM / Chevy also sold stake beds...

    yes that's what I meant is a steak bed or convert it to the step side I know they both have wood I just don't know which would better look cooler worth more the steak bed or the stepside.

    If you're making any decisions based on end value, stop now .

    If you just want a cool looking hobby truck, take some time to discern what bed typ you prefer, what others think isn't important in any way .

    Consider if you'll ever actually use it to haul then proceed accordingly .

    I agree with Nate about value in vs. value back. If you are just in it for the money you'll never get it back.
