Sorry for lots of post today, but this is the only free time I had. Here are several pictures of the engine under this 54 Chevy Truck. Yes I know it's not the I-6 engine... previous owner says this is a V6 either 3.8L or 4.3L engine. I can't seem to find and engine markings or where to look. Any help would be greatly appreciated! I also know LOTS of work here!

Looks like distributer on back of engine... 4.3L?
Evan, thanks so much for the quick response! Another <<LONG>> question... this engine has been sitting for 8 years... what I was thinking about doing is (1) spraying fogging oil in all 6 cylinders and letting sit for a few days, (2) changing oil & filter (oil is at full level... black), (3) changing spark plugs, (4) cleaning up distributer (or replace all parts), (5) cleaning up carborater or replacing, (6) new battery (12v) seller says it was converted to 12v from 6v system, and (7) fingers crossed, starting the engine. Thoughts?

Evan is the expert, but in case he doesn't respond in time, when you pull the drain plug take it out gently. Water will settle to the bottom of the oil and come out first.
