Okay ; You need to begin contacting Hot Rodders who've replaced their old rear ends with newer . No one ever wants to buy the old rear end so it's usually dirt cheap or free . Those are "Huck" brakes, used from 1937 ~ 1950 on passenger cars and light trucks so finding them is pretty easy . Best of luck and keep us posted .
"You need to begin contacting Hot Rodders who've replaced their old rear ends with newer" I had a set of those and couldn't figure out what they were for, and tossed them. I'm the Hot Rodder Nate is talking about. Timing was bad with me, but I'm sure you'll find somebody that has some. I provided the names of some other forums to check on your other post
Quick search of ebay and you can buy the whole kit-and-kaboodle for $80 shipped. Somebody who converted from Huck brakes to Bendix, no doubt 1947-1950 Chevy 1/2 ton rear huck breaks and more *Free Shipping* | eBay
Now that you have the parts inbound I of course found a 1953 3100 in an L.K.Q. yard in Fontana, Ca. it's the LKQ yard on Milliken Av. well South of the i10 freeway . It has a 216 engine with cylinder head, rusty toe board, bed and one rear fender in okay shape... The rear brakes were stripped, I didn't look in the bed to see if those links were there as it was close to 100* F and I was sweating buckets .
