    Hello all,

I am considering purchasing a 1966 GMC 2500 with a Gruman Aluminum body. It has a 305 v6 engine. I am considering converting it into a welding rig and use it for work. I remember reading how older engines relied on leaded gas to lubricate the valve guides and avoid pre-ignition. The switch to unleaded created a market for a lead gas additive to get around this problem. Is this a situation I need to consider today?

    Thanks for the input

Kinda late to this party but, the V6 is an extremely stout engine and will run just fine on modern no lead pump gasoline .
