[updated:LAST EDITED ON May-27-06 AT 01:38 PM (CST)]i an looking to drop a 76 scottsdale 2wheel drive long bed. nothing radical 3-4" in the back.2-3" in the front.the front is easy -cutting the springs-problem i have is the rear springs are on top the axel.-can't block it- do they make a shackle kit to lower the rearend? or am i going to have to knock out some leafs? i use this truck to tow my bass boat. am guessing it to be 3/4 ton..

I'm not too big into lowering trucks, but from what I've read in these forums, you might be better off buying either a set of drop spindles and/or drop springs for the front. Cutting the front springs just doesnt seem like a good idea. For the rear you there are drop shackles, if you tow with it, this would probably be a better idea than removing leaves.

If this is the truck you were asking about 5 lug rims for in your other thread, then it is a half ton. 3/4 tons are 8 lug.

ive done lowering on these trucks before and the best ride would be to get spindles up front for a 2inch drop then 2inch drop springs, the rear is easy with a shackle kit theres many places to get them it should be around 4 or hundred for a good kit.
