My 87 silverado died last night going down the street. I could get it to start back, but when i would give it any gas it would die. Had Autozone check the coil and the distributor module this morning. The coil was good and the module was bad so I changed it. There is power getting to the coil but it doesn't have any spark. Anyone have any ideas on what might be wrong?
RE: truck dies when given any accel My '77 did the same thing. I also went to Autozone and did the same as you. Believe it or not it wes the fuel filter. After I change it out it ran great. Hope this helps
RE: truck dies when given any accel the only thing autozone knows what to do is look up the part numbers n get it off the shelf they r pretty much worthless when it comes to finding ur problem
RE: truck dies when given any accel This has also happened to me in my 77 and it was a carb problem. Just needed to be "tuned" better. So a twist of the screw there and twist of a screw over here and there she goes
