I have an 86 GMC 1/2 ton and currently have my gas tank out while my truck bed is off the frame. Although I haven't had any problems with my gas guage I'm debating on whether or not I should replace the sending unit while the tank is out and easier to get at? So the question is, how reliable are these units or are they prone to go say every 10 years (I'm assuming mine is the original but have no way of knowing)? Thanks for your feedback in advance.
