I posted this message to my favorite old truck list and there advice was to post it here.

Ordered a new antenna for my 53 chevy...it arrived about a week later...cost 49.95... Of course I wanted to install it right away (no patience)...after reading the directions several times and looking through the parts, I realized there were some parts missing and then there were some included that I didn't see a place for...Long story short, I called the company, and they said I did receive the right package of hardware...and could not explain what the extra unknown stuff was for, or why the necessary hardware was not included...and proceeded to say nicely go to the hardware store and pick up the rest. End of story...for now..

so I also sent them an email...just as a friendly reminder of the issue asking them to really take the time and look into it and correct this problem, because there is nothing like waiting for a part and then not being able to install it when it arrives because there were parts missing.

I got a response from the same person I had on the phone saying, let me quote "I'm the one that you talked to on the phone the other day, but thanks for reminding me. I'm sorry that you had such a bad experience with this part. Most all of our products that we sell are nice products, and are cheaper than anybody else. Sometimes when you buy from manufacturers things after 10 to 20 years , something might slide by without being noticed, such as this part. We will try to do better in the future. Again we are sorry that you had such a bad experience with this part, and I hope you can feel that you can do business with us in the future." end quote.

Maybe I'm old fashioned at my young age, but I would have liked to have heard them say...we're fixing the problem and this won't happen again in the future.....not, most of our products are nice and cheaper... I did send a response asking them if they were going to fix this problem or if they were going to continue shipping this product as is... no response...

    Customer NO. 244648
    Sales ID JLL/JLL
    Order NO. 465182A
    Item # 69-955

I received a lot of support for my complaint...I hope this encourages you to find a fix for this problem..I know nobody is perfect and I may order from you again...but certainly not without a lot of questions. Let me add that my contact at chevy duty was very professional and kind, but I did not receive the service I was expecting, as so many of my fellow truckers have recommended you.

We took a new antenna off the shelf and test fit it just fine on our project truck using the instructions provided. Everything fit perfectly and installation was completed in less than 5 mins.

The only thing that the kit doesn't come with is the "hardware" to mount it to the inner body panel. This can be done very easily with two sheet metal screws or 2 bolts and would be done by the owners preference of using screws or bolts.

Check the instructions again...if you are not sure of how the item is to be assembled call 1-800-741-1678 x 111 . Jeff will be able to talk you thru the istallation.
