400 crank in 307

    I got a friend that whants to put a 400 crankshaft in a 70' 307 block,anybody know if this will work?.Thanks.Karl

    hi,

    I checked in "How to rebuild your SBC" and it gives 2,450" main journal dia. for the 307 and 2,650" for the 400, so it won't fit.

    you could have the crank turned down that far or have a custom crank made. other than that i don't know if it will be able to rotate in the block.
