Transmission ID

    Does anyone know what transmission was being offered or installed in the 1984 GMC suburbans? Im looking at one and cant contact the seller to ask at the moment. It does have a 350 small block. Thanks swoop

    probably a 208 would be my guess...

    If its an auto it's then its a 700r4, th350, or th400.
    700r4 has overdrive and the th350 has a square pan with a corner knocked off; otherwise its a 400.

    If its a manual, its most likely an sm465 (4 speed w/ granny low)
