If all you want to know is what type of transmission all you need to know is a few things. 1: a TH350C has a torque converter lock-up case connecter a few inchs behind the shifter shaft on the divers side of the transmission, a TH350 does not. 2: a TH250 is very simmilar, the way to tell the differance is the TH250 has a band adjustment screw on the passenger side of the transmission above the cooler lines. Some of them were air cooled and the cooler fittings are blocked off and the bellhousing would have large holes in it for cooling and the torque converter would have a funny looking shroud arownd it to help cool it off. 3: there are also TH250C's, TH250C's Have a ribbed/stamped pan and also like the TH350C have a torque converter connecter on the driver side of the transmission. 4: the TH250 /TH250C / TH350 & TH350C have a vacumm modulators, the TH200's that look very simmilar do not. Theirs also a V8 TH350 and a 6 cylinder TH350, I don't know if theres a way to tell them apart without taking them apart. The 6 cylinder has one less clutch in the clutch packs, they can be changed over. The Corvette TH350's have stronger spings in the accumulators to make them shift firmer but a shift kit can provide harder shifts if you want them.:D
