i have a 1990 chevy K5 blazer. I've gone off road but i haven't had to use the 4 wheel drive. Well once i lock my front hubs when i engage it in 4 high can i leave it in drive or does it have to be in park? Also when i put it in 4Low does it have to be in park? thanks guys

Well when you go to put it in 4 low you should be stopped and you can be in drive., but for 4 high you can be in drive far as i know.

On my 89 you may shift from 2H to 4H any time you want. To go to 4L tho, I HAVE to be completly stopped and seems to only want to go in while it is in nuetral. It doesnt even want to go in 4L in park, but it does have to be totally stopped.

of course it wont go in when its in park it has to be in nuetral so the gears can mesh freely even when your in park there is some resistance inside your t-case. 2h to h4 is on the fly meaning you can drop it in anytime( if your going one the freeway or high speeds I don't suggest doing it) but 2h or 4h stop completely put it in nuetral and let the rpms fall to idle then put it in4l !
