My 1972 GMC Jimmy 4x4 frame is bent. Is the frame on a 2x4 the same as a 4x4? Can I transfer all my 4x4 gear onto the 2x4? Also, are the frames the same for all years 1968-1972?

    Any advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks

2-wheel drive frames are different from 4-wheel drive frames, its been done but its a lot of work. crossmembers are different and all the shackles for the leaf springs would have to be cut off. Also the shocks mount different between the two. these are just a few things off the top of my head, many more other problems would be found if this were attempted. As for the 68-72 4x4 frames, I believe they all would work, I have a 71 frame I might sell if you get to that point, Im in Washington state by the way. :)

Thanks for your advice. I think you just saved me from a ton of work. I will call you if I can't find a frame in Utah.
