    Hey Group,

New to this forum. Just wanted to introduce myself. I am from NY and procured a nice 62 C10 with the rare LWB stepside from a farm in texas a couple of years ago. Not too much rot to deal with and a good candidate for a nut and bolt restoration which will start this winter. Hope all is well with you all and I look forward to some good "conversations" with you.

Welcome to the forum Mark! Your 62 will be a nice restoration, especially since you aren't going to have to deal with too much rot. It's always so much easier when you have something in good conditon to start with. This is a great place to ask questions when you get into your project.

    Thanks

    Robert,

Thanks for the welcome. I really love this truck. I found it in Texas, where it sat in a barn for over 20 years. From what I understand, the longbed stepside is not as prevalent as the shortbed. I've had lots of guys walk into my driveway to ask if it's for sale. It does need some rocker work and floor repairs, but I'm pretty good with a MIG welder. I'm really happy with the service I've gotten from your company. I look forward to working with you.

I found my C10 LWB in north Texas 5 years ago. It' s actually more reliable than my new truck. Last summer I hauled the old girl up the ALCAN highway to Anchorage, AK. Good luck with the resto.

Reliable? You're not kidding! It's hard to believe sometimes that the truck is 44 years old and still runs strong and starts up every time. I have a 2001 Nissan that dies in the winter (every winter) when it gets below 10 degrees. The 62 starts every time.

Got my generator rebuilt and installed last night with the help of my five year old son. THen we took her out for a ride. Just put new radials on her and the ride is smooth as silk. No rattles due to all new weatherstripping. Everywhere we went, people stopped and said things like "What year is that", or "Nice truck!". WHat a great feeling.
