Hi room. Found out that time isn't a thing to count on when redoing trucks. Seems one thing after another jumps in and kicks it in the @#@..But is ok..I just wanted to share some pictures. Still waiting for that maiden voyage since I saw alot of old trucks driving thru town today on the way to a show..Can't wait but still waiting. You can see the new firewall that came from CD and the floor kit.. http://www.clgw.net/~tonyp/The%20Beginning.htm
RE: Progress Wow ~ you've made a LOT of progress ! I didn't know you were installing an indented firewall . I didn;t know it was to be a hot rod . I think you're making great time . This is why I don't restore my own truck , I like to be able to go out and climb into it , drive away , _now_ noisy U-joint & all . -Nate
RE: Progress Boy, Rusty is really looking good. There are a lot of us in the same boat... "Why am I doing this? I already have a perfectly good vehicle and I don't need to spend all this time scrounging for stuff for an old beater that will never be worth what I have invested." Then you look at something like Rusty and it all makes sense. You can't put it into words a high rise dweller would understand, but it all makes sense. Sweet!
RE: Progress I appreciate the kind words about "Rusty". Seems the longer I go doing this the more I want to do. I saw somewhere on this site that the person would never finish their truck...I'm about to understand the thought. Sorta like raising a kid..Doesn't matter how old they get..still your baby..Glad I have mine. Hopefully someday it will be grown enough to take in public.
RE: Couldn't wait but still waitng. I have been waiting for page 9 for awhile. Thanks for the update and keep up the good work. Your engine compartment really turned out nice. I have been working on a '53 for 2 1/2 years so I know exactly how you feel. I would love to get her done sooner than later but and I also want to enjoy the process. I already have one job and don't need a second. Mike
I have a question about the firewall. It looks great. Did you recess it because you had to so that the engine would fit right or did you do it because the way it looked? Your truck is coming along beautifully.
