hi my name is matt and i recently bought a 1966 chevy c10 fleetside kustom cab. im not sure if the engine is original but i am positive that the trans is the original 4 speed manual. i have had it and have been driving it pretty consistantly for the last 2 months without any major problems but over the last two or three days i have noticed that i have lost a considerable ammount of acceleration in second, third, and fourth. reverse seems to be uneffected and i havent used the granny gear. i would be grateful for any advice. thanks

Wecome to the form Matt, check your distrubtor an see if you have points look at them see if they burned just a little bit ,I know my 283 v-8 with points will run rough even if the points are just a little burned.Might even be your timing off a hair. Is your oil pressure ok?

Their is also a fliter on the sending unit inside our gas tank you might check that on to,that filter can get clogged too.I had to replace mine with a new sending unit a couple of years ago.

i replaced my fuel filter and i checked the sending unit in the gas tank, but i wasnt sure where the filter is supposed to be but when i blew air through the line it wasnt clogged. im not exactly sure what you mean by "points" (points look at them see if they burned just a little bit) could you be more specific? and thanks so much for all the advice from everyone, i really appreciate it.

My points are set on 18 with a points feller gauge, timing is set TDC before 8 on timing tab with #1 valve closed. You can also set your points with a piece of thin cardboard paper if you know what your doing.
