I am sure that you have all heard this one before, but for my shameful self could someone tell me what other rear end I can put in this truck and maintain the 8 lug pattern and go to a smaller gear. I have an Eaton with a 456 and it is killing me for driving and gas. I am eternally greatful for any and all help.
Check with the folks at Randy's Ring & Pinion http://www.ringpinion.com/ about a ring & pinion set to replace the 456 gear set you have now. Val
I am pretty sure that the Eaton in this thing only will accept a low of a 4.11 and I want to go to a mid 3's, someone had told me that I could get a rear that would match up perfectly without any welding or anything he jsut did not know what year the truck or sub was that it might come from, and I did not understand any of the numbers an randys.
A Dana 44 or Dana 60 was used on Ford, Chevy, and Dodge. They're bomb proof and can be found in the junk yard. Also try calling Randy's and get some advice from one of there technicians. This might help steer you in the right direction.
