Can a lock for a right side door be added to the left door of a mid year 1949 truck? I realize that the cover would be upside down, but having a driver door lock would be great. Will the handle mechanism accomodate the lock tab? Does the lock cylinder come out readily so that a locksmith can provide locks keyed alike?

    Thanks, newbie Windy in Kansas

It's _NOT_ going to happen ~ sorry .

The design of the latch assembly itself precludes maiing this modification .

It's an old truck , this is how it goes .

Thanks Nate for letting me know. I hadn't examined any door mechanism to see if it was possible. I'll NOT order an extra lock in.

I suppose that I could toy with the electric lock Idea. Nope, probably not. I like the K.I.S.S. rule too much.
