I have a new sending unit in my tank. 55 3/4 chevy. I am getting no reading on my Guage. I took it out and moved the float up and down while conected, and still no reading. I have 2 wires coming from the unit, I am assuming one is ground and one goes to the guage. Could I have a bad sending unit? It is new from Chevy duty...or is my wireing all backwards? The wire that comes from the sending unit is hooked to the left side of the guage, and i have another wire from the right side of the guage connected to the ingnition switch. I hate electracal problems..Any Ideas? Thanks.. gafcob2002@aol.com

Have you tested the sending unit itself. The float in the down position should read 0 ohms and all the way up it should read 30 ohms.

I would recomend that you unhook the wires while you test the unit.
